For The New Era
Sweet Home girls soccer team concluded its season with an awards banquet on Nov. 11.

The Huskies finished sixth in the Oregon West Conference with an 0-10 league record and went 1-14 overall. Despite the challenges, the team looks to build on its experience next year with a young core, as Anabelle Morris and Danille Robinson were the only seniors on the roster.
Goalkeeper Lyndie Birkett earned the team’s MVP honor. Jocelynn Simmons, Morgan Lalonde, and Taylor Sullivan were all recognized as Rookie of the Year recipients. Ziarra Duncan took home both the Best Midfielder award and the Hustle Award, while Morris and Reece Linder were named Best Forwards.
Hailee Ramsdell received the Coaches Award, Rylee Mabe was voted Most Dependable, and Khole Sautel was selected as the team’s Best Defender.
Coach Ramiro Santana could not be reached for his thoughts on the season.
