Dear Editor: District 11 ‘fortunate’ to choose Sanchez

Editor:

There are candidates who run for office, and then there are people who have lived the values they want to bring to the Capitol. Angelita Sanchez is the latter – and District 11 would be fortunate to send her to Salem.

Angelita isn’t a politician who discovered conservatism when it became convenient. She’s a lifelong Republican, rooted right here in our community, shaped by the same concerns and values that drive most of us: hard work, personal responsibility, faith in our neighbors, and a deep belief that government should serve people – not the other way around.

What strikes you immediately about Angelita is how approachable she is. She’s not campaigning from a distance. She’s knocking on doors, sitting at kitchen tables, listening at community meetings. She understands that the issues facing District 11 aren’t abstractions –  they’re the grocery bills, the water bills, the property tax statements that land in our mailboxes and remind us how stretched we already are.

That’s why her commitment on taxes and fees matters so much. Angelita has been clear and unwavering: no new taxes, no new fees on the people of this district. At a time when working families and small business owners are already doing more with less, that pledge is not just good politics – it’s good sense.

Salem has a long habit of solving its problems by reaching into our pockets. Angelita would be a voice saying “enough is enough.”

She also brings something increasingly rare to this race: she actually knows the issues.

Her engagement with District 11’s challenges – including standing up for property owners and local accountability in matters that have directly affected our community – reflects someone who has done her homework and understands the stakes.

This isn’t a resume-building exercise for Angelita. This is home.

Oregon needs legislators who remember where they came from and who they’re working for. Angelita Sanchez is that candidate. She’s one of us – a woman of faith, a member of this community, someone who believes the people of District 11 deserve a representative who fights for them, not for the next political stepping stone.

On primary day, I’ll be proud to cast my vote for Angelita Sanchez. I hope you’ll join me.
