Lebanon’s Strawberry Festival 5K and mile drew more than 800 runners and walkers Saturday, June 6, as out-of-town visitors ran away from the home crowd to win the annual race.
Cameron Peshon of Portland finished first in 15.50 to win the 3.1-mile run through downtown Lebanon.
He finished well ahead of second-place Noah Charves. 18, of Maricopa, Ariz., who ran 16:25, ahead of Brody Gerig of Albany (16.25).
The top local finisher was Xavier Macedo of Lebanon, 15, who finished in 17:47, good for sixth place.
Harper Welch of Remond, 13, was first female in 20:46.05, 31st overall.
The 5K had 490 finishes, with 332 crossing the finish line in the 1-mile run/walk that preceded the main race.
Eadon Marshall, 15, of Lebanon, won the mile in 6:24, ahead of Wyatt Simmons, 13, ( 6:26.30) and A Simmons, 11, (6:26.62), both of Lebanon.
The first girl to finish the mile was C. Gambardella of Albany, 11, who ran 6:41, good for fifth place.
