Margaret Dale Pitts

Margaret “Peg” Dale Pitts, 76, of Lebanon, passed away on Thursday, September 10, 2026. She was born on September 26, 1949 to Marie Dale (Griffith) and John F. Hicks in Newark, New Jersey.
She lived in Happy Camp, Alaska, Truckee, Arizona and moved to Sweet Home area in 1970.
In the early 1980’s, she worked as a mail carrier, then as a clerk at the post office and retired from Sweet Home Post Office after 26 years. She loved to visit with everyone. She cared for all of her kid’s friends and was happy to help others.
Margaret raced at Willamette Speedway for three seasons and liked to work on race cars. She enjoyed adventures, hunting, camping and going on drives. She loved animals, especially her dogs.
She is survived by her husband Tom Pitts of Lebanon; sons, Carl Wirth of Sweet Home, Robert Wirth of Lebanon; brother John “Chip” Hicks of Oregon; two grandchildren, plus all of Tom’s grandchildren and four great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents.
A memorial service will be 4:00 pm, Tuesday, September 22nd at Sweet Home Funeral Chapel. Sweet Home Funeral Chapel is handling arrangements.
