Janice Forrester

Janice “Jan” Irene Forrester, 85, of Sweet Home, passed away peacefully in Bandon on Sept. 13, 2026.
Jan was born on Aug. 26, 1941, in El Paso, Texas, to Dr. Donald and Dr. Mabel Page. She was raised in Boulder, Colo., where she developed a lifelong love for family, faith, education and the beauty of the Rocky Mountains.
She earned a degree in education from Union College and devoted many years to teaching. Her career included elementary, secondary, and adult education, ultimately serving as Assistant Director of Adult Education in Freeport, Maine, until her retirement in 2006.
On June 9, 1968, she married Ronald Lee Forrester, and together they shared 58 years of devoted marriage. Jan and Ron made homes in several states throughout their lives before settling in Oregon to be near family.
A woman of deep faith, Jan was a devoted member of the Albany Seventh-day Adventist Church and served in numerous leadership and ministry roles throughout her lifetime wherever she lived. She was especially known for her commitment to prayer, love of Bible study, and willingness to help others.
She is survived by her beloved husband, Ronald Forrester; her son, Alden Forrester and wife Carmen; grandsons Alex and Max; her sister, Ann Maxwell; and many extended family members and friends.
Jan will be remembered for her steadfast faith, servant’s heart, love of learning, and unwavering devotion to family.
A funeral service will be 3 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 17, at Albany Seventh-day Adventist Church, 3085 Grand Prairie Rd SE, Albany, OR 97322. Final burial will be at 10 a.m. Monday, Oct. 19, at Gilliland Cemetery in Sweet Home.
