James Wilcox

James Laurance Wilcox, 72, of Sweet Home, passed away Oct. 25, 2026.
He was born June 21, 1954, to Patricia (Tyler) and Walter Wilcox in Lebanon.
He lived most of his life in Sweet Home and was a longtime member of Holley Church. He never met a stranger and always had a greeting and smile for everyone.
He loved fishing, yardwork, gardening, woodwork, collecting and tumbling rocks.
James liked football and was a huge Oregon State University Beavers fan. He enjoyed science fiction books and movies.
He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Lori Wilcox of Sweet Home; daughters Hollie Wilcox of Ware, Mass., Kristina (Steve) Pyle of Lebanon, and Andrea (Foster) Martinson of Lebanon; four grandsons; two step-granddaughters; brothers Mike (Fonda) Wilcox, and Bill (Paulina) Wilcox; sister Edith Wilcox and partner Steve; and many nieces, nephews and extended family members.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Walter Wilcox (2010) and Patricia Wilcox (2012); and brother Christopher Wilcox (2025).
A memorial service was held Oct. 30 at Holley Church.
