After 31 years remains ID’d

A skull discovered in 1979 has been identified as that of a Sweet Home woman who disappeared while delivering a lunch to her brother less than two weeks before Christmas in 1974.

Linn County Sheriff Tim Mueller said the victim, Samilla Stewart, 36, of Sweet Home, was last seen at approximately 8:30 p.m. on Dec. 13, 1974 when she took her brother Steve Stewart a lunch while he was working at the Tomco Cascadia plant.
