Sweet Home’s Wildland Fire Crew 21 was working the Grasshopper Fire east of Mt. Hood earlier this month when it got a chance to work side-by-side with some of the best in the wildland firefighting business.
That would be the Eldorado Hotshots, an elite 20-person U.S. Forest Service handcrew based on the Eldorado National Forest in California. The Hotshots specialize in tackling the most extreme, remote, and high-intensity wildfires nationwide.
