Alan Harper, 83, of Sweet Home, formerly of Madras died April 4, 2013.
He was born on Sept. 7, 1929 in Junction City to Robert James and Cora (Thayer) Harper.
He was raised in Junction City. He moved to Bend in 1976. In 2004, he moved to Madras and then on to Sweet Home in November 2012.
Harper was a construction worker. He enjoyed traveling, working around the house and yard, motorcycling, riding ATVs and camping. He loved spending time with his family.
He is survived by his wife of 29 years, Laverne Harper; children Mark Toole of Madera, Calif., Mary Albin of Los Angeles, Calif., Barbara Clefton (Harper) of Madras, Brenda Waugh of Valencia, Calif., Kathy McCraven of Sweet Home, Trina Brogen of Bend, Jeff Medeiros of Tualatin; brother Jim Harper of Bend; 12 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
Alan was preceded in death by his parents, Cora and Robert Harper; brothers, Bill Harper and Malcolm Harper; and sisters, Mary Harper Detering, Hannah Harper Koch and Verona Harper Calvert.
