Alice Gilliland, 72, of Springfield, died Feb. 13, 2011 at Riverbend Sacred Heart Medical Center in Springfield.
She was born May 15, 1938 in Goshen to Jack and Geraldine Rubby.
She grew up in Cascadia and lived most of her life in Oregon. She was a graduate of Sweet Home High School.
Mrs. Gillliland worked as a waitress, wood molding mill worker and bank teller. She was a life member of the American Legion and Veterans of Foreign Wars.
She loved traveling, being at the beach and clam digging, playing penny slots, camping, and working customer service.
Mrs. Gilliland is survived by her sons, Leon Ames of Scappoose and Ted A. Thomas of North Carolina; sister Irene Kennedy of Sweet Home; and two grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husbands, Harold J. Gilliland and James A. Thomas.
Graveside service will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 16, at Gilliland Cemetery.
