Allison Rene Olson of Lebanon and Ryan Joseph Gerdes of Corvallis were married Sept. 7, 2013 at the Walk residence in Sweet Home.
James Schupp officiated.
The bride is the daughter of Kim and Karen Olson of Lebanon. She has an economics degree from Lewis and Clark College in Portland and is an assistant pastry chef at Higgins Restaurant in Portland.
The groom is the son of Glen and Debby Gerdes of Corvallis. He holds an art degree from Linfield College in McMinnville. He is a graphic designer for Hewlett Packard Co.
The bride was given in marriage by her father and mother. The maid of honor was sister of the bride Gena Olson of Portland. Bridesmaids were Amber Ebbs of Albany, Anne Scheiman of Portland, Audry McPherson of Lebanon, Haehee Joung-Phillips of Portland and Jacque Mulcare of Woodinville, Wash.
The flower girl was niece of the bride Lucy Links of Sweet Home. The ring bearer was nephew of the bride Kaden Payne of Salem.
The best man was Kyle Byrd of Corvallis. Groomsmen were Jeremy Johnson of Eugene, Joe Conrad of Portland, Dave Walker of Portland, Ryan Stoller of Portland and Ray Wattis of Portland.
Music was provided by Billy Lakey on guitar.
The ceremony was held in a hidden glade next to Ames Creek. From there, the guests made their way to a beautiful barn constructed by the bride’s uncle.
The bride and groom provided many personalized touches to their wedding and reception. The groom screenprinted all of the invitations and other print materials, napkins and notes on the guest gifts.
The bride made all the men’s ties, the napkins, the guest gifts (jams and marmalade) and the wedding cake. She also arranged all of the flowers and bouquets.
Appetizers were provided by the bride’s employer, Greg Higgins. Everyone enjoyed a catered buffet with music and dancing afterward. Matt and Michelle Oaks of Michelle’s Music Service were disc jockeys.
The couple honeymooned on Kauai, Hawaii, and are now at home in Portland.
