Alvina Magdelena (Rosin) Galster, 93, formerly of Sweet Home, died Friday, Dec. 9, 2005, in Sublimity.
She was born Dec. 26, 1911, in Java, S.D., to Fredrick Rosin and Magdelena (Pleinis) Rosin. The family then moved to a homestead near Craigmyle, Alberta, Canada.
She married Albert Galster, on Nov. 24, 1936, and they relocated to Sweet Home.
Mrs. Galster was well known for her sewing, cooking, flower gardening, and quilting. She loved to tease and tell jokes. She had a strong, “can-do” spirit that enabled her to cope with many adversities. She was faithful to and loved her Lord all her life.
Mrs. Galster is survived by her daughters, Wanda Firman of Boise, Idaho, Inez Ambrosek of Stayton and Linda Bunting of Salem; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Fred, Albert and Reinhold Rosin; infant sister, Emma Rosin, and her son, Darrell.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 14, at Bethel Lutheran Church, 2590 Long St., Sweet Home, with viewing preceding at 10 a.m.
