Dam Road closures April 26, May 12
The road over Foster Dam will be closed from 9 to 4 p.m. on Wednesday, April 26, in order to raise the fish weir in the spillway gate to summer water level.
During this operation, a crane will block the road, requiring a total road closure.
The dam road will also be closed from 10 a,n, to 1 p.m. Friday, May 12, for an inspection.
‘The Giff’ to appear at museum Friday
The East Linn Museum along with Tony Farque will present “The Giff” from 1 to 2 p.m. Friday, April 28, at 746 Long St.
Gifford Pinchot was an American forester and politician who served as the first chief of the US Forest Service beginning in 1905.
Admission is free, but donations are accepted. Refreshments will be served.

SLCH scholarship deadline April 30
April 30 is the deadline to apply for scholarships offered to medical students by Lebanon Community Hospital Foundation.
They are the $1,000 Rachel Easton, RN, Nursing Scholarship for college nursing program students; the Frank Girod, MD, Scholarship for students enrolled in medical school, which can range from $1,500 to $8,000 annually; and the $1,000 John and Carol Dinges Medical Scholarship for east Linn County students enrolled in an entry-level health care program at Linn-Benton Community College.

Kindergarten info session May 3
Sweet Home Charter School will hold a Kindergarten Round-Up information session at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, May 3, at the school, 28721 Liberty Rd.
The charter school is a free public school from kindergarten to sixth grade with a five day school week and small class sizes.

Facebook class for small business
Linn-Benton Business and Employer Services will hold an “Advanced Facebook for Small Businesses” workshop from 6 to 8:50 p.m. on Monday, May 1, at the Luckiamute Center, room 115, 6500 SW Pacific Blvd., Albany.
Cost is $79.
Participants will learn how to use Facebook to grow business and take marketing to the next level. Workshop covers how to drive engagement, use Facebook analytics, sponsor posts for visibility, Facebook ads, advanced targeting and re-targeting ads and techniques to maximize results.

Da Vinci-inspired art show at LBCC
Linn-Benton Community College is exhibiting “Ekphrasis” through May 3 in the South Santiam Hall Galllery, 6500 Pacific Blvd. SW, Albany.
Inspired by the work of Leonardo da Vinci, “Ekphrasis” showcases poetry by 15 members of the LBCC Poetry Club paired with drawings by 15 local artists.

Fund-raiser for homeless May 4
Home Sweet Home Cafe will hold a fund-raiser dinner for Love Thy Neighbor services from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday, May 4, 1333 Main St.
The dinner will include lasagna, sides, drink and dessert.
Cost is $5 for kids, $8 for a regular and $10 for a large.
Star Wars Day at Lebanon Library
Lebanon Public Library will celebrate Star Wars Day all day Thursday, May 4, by providing fun Star Wars themed coloring and activity pages.
From 6-8 p.m. the celebration continues with visits from Darth Vader, Luke Skywalker and Chewbacca. Events include themed crafts, games, raffle drawings, movie and refreshments. Come in costume for the costume contest.
All ages are welcome to submit art in any medium for the Star Wars Fan Art Contest. Art work will be accepted from 10 a.m. Monday, May 1, through 7 p.m. Wednesday, May 3. Contest entry forms and rules will be available at the library during business hours. Winners will be announced May 4.
The event is free and open to the public.

Meals on Wheels, also known as Your Table or Ours, offers lunch at the Sweet Home Community Center to seniors over 60 at noon on Mondays, Tuesdays and Fridays.
The Senior Center serves a separate lunch on Wednesdays.
First-time diners are invited to come in and have a free lunch to give it a try.
Suggested donation is $3.50. All meals are served with milk, coffee or tea upon request and diabetic desserts are available on request.
The menu on Friday, April 28, is diced beef stew or zucchini lasagna, broccoli floret trees, leafy green salad, cornmeal roll and cinnamon pear crisp.
The menu on Monday, May 1, is beef tomato macaroni or scalloped potatoes/ham, cut green beans, country coleslaw, cracked wheat roll and mixed fruit cup.
The menu on Tuesday, May 2, is chicken lo mein or beef and potato stew, broccoli cuts, garden vegetable salad, wheat roll and chilled peaches.
Volunteers are needed for both kitchen help and meal delivery.
