OSU Extension Small Farms Program will host Dry Farming Collaborative Field Days Tuesdays in August.
The Dry Farming Collaborative is a group of growers, extension educators, plan breeders and agricultural professionals partnering to increase knowledge and awareness of dry farming management practices.
Tours will be held at trial farms and participants will learn about dry farming and see crops grown with little or no supplemental irrigation in the field.
Registration is $10 per person per day.

‘My Fair Lady’ on stage Aug. 1-5
Lebanon Association for Theater Arts will present My Fair Lady at 7 p.m. Tuesday to Saturday, Aug. 1 to Aug. 5, with a matinee at 2 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 5 at the Lebanon High School Auditorium, 1700 S. Fifth St.
“My Fair Lady” is a Broadway musical from 1956.
Tickets are $10 for general admission and $8 for student/senior tickets.
Tickets are sold in Lebanon at Linn Co Credit Union, Umpqua Bank and Lebanon Chamber of Commerce.
‘Verona’ on stage at
OSU’s Bard theater
Oregon State University Theatre’s Bard in the Quad will present a western-themed production of Shakespeare’s romantic comedy, “Two Gentlemen of Verona.”
Performances will be held at 7:30 p.m. Thursday to Sunday, Aug. 3-6 and Thursday to Sunday, Aug. 10-13, in the Memorial Union Quad, 2501 S.W. Jefferson Way, Corvallis.
Bard in Quad performances are held outside and no seating is provided, creating a fun, laid-back atmosphere.
Attendees are encouraged to bring low lawn chairs and/or blankets, warm clothing and food if desired. Seating begins at 6:30 p.m. and no one is seated prior to that time.
“Two Gentlemen of Verona” is a romantic comedy about Proteus and Valentine, two inseparable friends living happily in Verona.
When Valentine seeks his fortune in Milan and ends up leaving Proteus behind, promises are broken as Proteus finds himself suddenly infatuated with Valentine’s love-interest, Sylvia.
With a new setting in the American Wild West, the story of action, disguise, mistaken identity, and a scene-stealing dog unfolds.
Tickets are $15 for general admission, $10 for students and seniors, and $5 for OSU students. Briana Renea at The Point Friday
Briana Renea will provide entertainment at The Point at 7 p.m. Friday, Aug. 3.
Renea grew up on a farm in Canby.
Her original songs are about real life experiences happening around her. Her music is a mix of rock and country.
Her new single, “Chasin’ Trouble,” placed in the Top 40 for the Nashville Songwriters Assocation International’s second quarter of 2016.

Baroque chamber
trio at local winery
The Meadlowlark Trio will play at Marks Ridge Winery at 7 p.m. Friday, Aug. 4.
The trio plays Baroque Chamber Music with oboe, cello and spinet.
Bring your own picnic dinner, chairs or blanket. No outside alcohol is allowed. Cost is $10.
Artists reception at Albany gallery
Watercolor artist Susan Bourdet of Jefferson and painter Rob Robinson of Albany will be the featured artists during August at Gallery Calapooia, 222 First Ave. W., in Albany.
An artists reception from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, Aug. 4 will feature the work of Bourdet and Robinson, as well as 18 other mid-valley artists.
Wine, beer and snacks will be served. The Rose and Thistle, a recently-formed musical trio from Albany, will play music at the reception. It includes Kim Collar on guitar and violin, Chelsea Foreman on violin and Tom Hughes on mandolin and guitar.
Bourdet paints lifelike watercolor images of birds and animals while Robinson works in an abstract style.
Bourdet’s work is featured in several annual calendars published by Lang and sold internationally.
Gallery Calapooia is in its fifth year of operation. Gallery hours are 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday.

Genealogy Society Jamboree hours
The Sweet Home Genealogical Society Library will have special hours for the Jamboree Weekend, Thursday to Saturday, Aug. 4 to Aug. 6.
The hours will be 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday, 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday and Saturday, and 8 a.m. to noon Sunday.
“Sweet Home – A History in Pictures” will be discounted to $75 for the weekend. The book contains almost 300 pages of information and pictures of Sweet Home’s pioneer families.
Breakfast to raise fireworks funds
The Sweet Home Fire Volunteer Association will host their annual All-You-Can-Eat Pancake breakfast from 8 to 11 a.m. Saturday and Sunday, Aug. 5 and 6, at the Fire Station, 1099 Long St.
Breakfast includes buttermilk pancakes, ham, sausage, eggs, coffee, juice and milk.
Cost is $6 a person.
The breakfast is to raise funds for the Sportsman’s Holiday fireworks display.
Scott Riggan to lead Holley worship
Scott Riggan and his acoustic trio will appear at Holley Christian Church at 10 a.m. Sunday, Aug. 6.
Riggan has built a following in the U.S. Starting with his hit “I Love You Lord,” which climbed to No. 1 nationwide and stayed on the Billboard Christian radio charts for over nine months.

SH farm-to-table
benefit dinner
The Albany Visitors Association and Visit Corvallis will hold a farm-to-table dinner at Weddle Bridge in Sweet Home’s Sankey Park from 5 to 8 p.m. on Aug. 12.
Chef Derek Ridgeway of 1847 Bar and Grill in Lebanon will organize the meal, and wine pairings will be made by Jerry Sass of Sass Winery of Salem.
The event is part of a summer dinner series that brings together top local chefsand vinters to benefit local organizations. This year’s series will benefit the Albany Veterans Parade.
Participants must be 21 and tickets must be reserved in advance.

Local artists to play at The Oaks
Local artists Jobe Woosley and the Scruggs & The Steelbenders band will perform at Lyrics on the Lawn from 5 to 10 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 12, at The Oaks for Memories Benefit Concert.
Local vendors will provide food and beverages.
Tickets are $8 pre-sale and $10 at the gate. All proceeds benefit the Alzheimer’s Association.
Hike Aug. 12 on Lebanon river trail
Build Lebanon Trails will host a West River Trail Hike at 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 12.
Participants will meet at River Park to hike a scenic stretch of the Santiam River on top of a protective flood dike along the river. The hike will go to Cheadle Lake and return to River Park via Eagle Scout Trail. Parts of the path will be wooded with uneven terrain.
The hike is 3.5 mile round trip. Listening devices will be available during the hike.
Dress appropriately for the weather and appropriate shoes for the terrain. Well mannered dogs on leashes are welcome.

Meals on Wheels, also known as Your Table or Ours, offers lunch at the Sweet Home Community Center to seniors over 60 at noon on Mondays, Tuesdays and Fridays.
The Senior Center serves a separate lunch on Wednesdays.
First-time diners are invited to come in and have a free lunch to give it a try.
Suggested donation is $3.50. All meals are served with milk, coffee or tea upon request and diabetic desserts are available on request.
No meal will be served on Friday, Aug. 4, due to the Oregon Jamboree.
The menu on Monday, Aug. 7, is roast turkey with gravy or BBQ smokehouse chop, Lyonnaise potatoes, broccoli cuts, wheat bran roll and cinnamon applesauce.
The menu on Tuesday, Aug. 8, is roast pork or turkey patty, both with gravy, whipped potatoes with gravy, Capri blend vegetables, multigrain bread, and lime gelatin jewels with whipped topping.
