Northwest Art & Air

Festival Night Glow

Friday August 25th

The Festival opens at noon

CJ Mickens Band starts at 5 pm and goes until 9:30 pm

Night Glow at dusk (Around 7ish) Festival admission is free. Parking is $10.

The Friday Night Glow presented by EC Electric is full of joy and amazement for the entire family: brilliantly-colored balloons tower over the crowd, lighting up the night sky.

Half a dozen balloons participate in one of the festival’s most popular events, the Night Glow on Friday only at dusk, weather permitting. Balloon pilots and crews set up the colorful fabric envelopes in an open area on the east side of Timber-Linn Park, inflate them with hot air while tethered to the ground, and illuminate them in a series of patterns.

The seating area opens at 1 pm to put blankets and chairs down.

Come early to enjoy music, food, and the artist booths! Check out NWartandair.org for the festival schedule and more details!

Depending on the wind, the balloons might not be able to inflate for very long or at all. There is no guarantee that it will happen if the weather does not cooperate. As the balloon is filled and heated, it will move from a horizontal position, lying on the ground, to a vertical one, standing straight up. We need virtually zero wind in order to keep them up safely and able to properly use the burner to have them “glow”. This is why we never know if Night Glow will be 5 minutes or 25 minutes.
