Meals on Wheels weekly menu
Meals on Wheels offers take-out lunch at the Sweet Home Community Center to seniors over 60 at noon on Mondays, Tuesdays and Fridays.
The Senior Center serves a separate lunch on Wednesdays.
Suggested donation is $3.50. All meals are served with milk, coffee or tea upon request and diabetic desserts are available on request.
The menu on Friday, Dec. 9, is a Santa Fe chicken or chef mini-salad over spinach romaine salad, chicken tortilla soup, a seven-grain roll and diced peaches.
The menu on Monday, Dec. 12, is a turkey divan bake or spaghetti and meat sauce, an Italian vegetable blend, marinated zucchini salad, a wheat roll and a cranberry crunch bar.
The menu on Tuesday, Dec. 13, is shoyu chicken or breaded fish with tartar sauce, brown rice, green beans with red peppers, broccoli raisin salad and pineapple fluff.

Focus group set on health in city
The Sweet Home Health Committee, in partnership with Western University School of Health Sciences, will hold four focus-group meetings in January to seek community input on the health of the city.
Student doctors from the university will conduct these sessions at 6 p.m. Jan. 10, 11, 17 and 18 at the Sweet Home Police Department, 1950 Main St.
Participants will be asked five to 10 open-ended questions about health care and health-related issues.
Each focus group will be limited to eight individuals.

Lebanon FFA wreath, tree sale
Lebanon High School’s Land Lab will hold a Christmas wreath and tree sale from Dec. 9-11 and 16-18 at 31000 Landlab Road, Lebanon.
Hours are 4 to 8 p.m. Fridays, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m Saturdays, and 1 to 5 p.m. Sundays.
Santa will be available for photos from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 10. Photos are $10.
Free cookies, hot cocoa and cider will be served.
Christmas Parlour Tour set Dec. 11
Visit six Albany homes and an historic building in the 43rd annual Christmas Parlour Tour, scheduled from 2 to 7 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 11.
Cost is $15 for ages 12 and over. Children under 12 are admitted free with an adult.
Tickets will be available until 10 a.m. the day of the tour. They may be purchased online at the Monteith House website at monteithhouse.org, and on the day of the tour (cash or check only) beginning at 1 p.m. at the Albany Visitors Association, 110 SE Third Ave., where participants may also bring e-receipts for wristbands and tickets, which include information about the sites and a map.
A free trolley and horse-drawn wagon will be running during the tour, stopping at a few of the homes and other locations. Refreshments will be available at the Monteith House, 518 SW Second Ave. Other buildings open that day will be the United Presbyterian Church, 330 SW Fifth Ave .; the Downtown Carnegie Library, 302 SW Ferry St .; Whitespires Church, 510 SW Fifth Ave .; and the Historic Carousel & Museum, 503 W. First Ave.
The homeowners ask that visitors refrain from touching items and to not take pictures or videos while in the homes. Visitors also may be asked to wear shoe coverings or masks at some locations, which will be provided at the door.

After 5 announces holiday program
After 5 Connection will host a dinner and special program, “Candy Cane Christmas,” for local women at 6 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 13, at Ma’s Restaurant, 2416 S. Santiam Hwy. in Lebanon.
Join in for an evening of fun, food and traditional singalong. Celebrate with festive Christmas carols, dinner and a Christmas story with audience participation in a “right-left” game.
Participants are asked to bring a wrapped pair of socks for a gift exchange.
Guest speaker will be Faye Pruitt of Newberg, an artist, musician and ventriloquist who speaks for both children’s and women’s groups.

Sweet Home Chamber of Commerce will hold its monthly Coffee With Colleagues from 8:30 to 9:15 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 13, at the Boys & Girls Club of the Greater Santiam, 870 18th Ave.
This is an opportunity to connect with the Sweet Home business community.

SHHS band, choir schedule concert
Sweet Home High School’s band and choir will present their Winter Concert at 7 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 15, in the auditorium at the school, 1641 Long St.
Admission is free.
The junior high choirs and band will also perform.
