Trout Creek field trip open to public

The Sweet Home Ranger District is sponsoring a public field trip on Thursday, July 17, to the Trout Creek planning area.

“We’d like to invite everyone out to go and see some of the forest and stream conditions in the Trout Creek planning area and give us their ideas about management of this important area” said District Ranger Cindy Glick. “We are especially interested in hearing from folks who may have historic knowledge of the area and those who would like to be part of planning our future.”

Participants are asked to RSVP to either Anita Leach ([email protected]) or Amanda Colton ([email protected]). Individuals can gather at the ranger station at 9 a.m. on July 17 and the Ranger District will provide transportation into the field. The trip will be over at approximately 4 p.m.

Participants should wear long pants, long sleeves and bring sun and/or rain protection, bring a lunch and plenty of water. While some walking in the woods is likely, folks who prefer to stay on the roads and limit their hiking will still be able to participate – so don’t let concerns about rigorous hiking stop you.

For more information, contact the Ranger Station between 8 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday at (541) 367-5168.
