LBCC offers free business help
Linn-Benton Community College’s Small Business Development Center offers a variety of business classes as the new year begins.
“Going Into Business,” a free, informational, lively one-hour Zoom class led by Melinda Short, is offered at 11:30 a.m. on Jan. 5 and Jan. 26.
“Small Business Management – Growth” is a free Zoom class that meets for nine months on the first and third Wednesday of each month, from January to June and continuing from September to November. Focus on the priorities to grow your business. There will be discussion, networking, and one-on-one advising to customize the topics to your business.

SAFE can drive this Saturday
The organizers of the Senior Alcohol Free Event Party for the Class of 2021 will hold a bottle and can drive from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 9, at the O’Reilly’s Parking Lot at the corner of 12th Avenue and Main Street.
Pickup can also be arranged by calling or texting Brandi at (541) 401-7167. All proceeds go to the SAFE Party.
Meals on Wheels weekly menu
Meals on Wheels offers take-out lunch at the Sweet Home Community Center to seniors over 60 at noon on Mondays, Tuesdays and Fridays.
The Senior Center serves a separate lunch on Wednesdays.
Suggested donation is $3.50. All meals are served with milk, coffee or tea upon request and diabetic desserts are available on request.
The menu on Friday, Jan. 8, is herbed chicken patty or meatloaf, both with gravy, lyonnaise potatoes, zucchini with red peppers, rye bread and pear cobbler.
The menu on Monday, Jan. 11, is chicken parmesan or Italian sausage for sandwich, Italian blend vegetables, German potato salad, oval French roll and seasonal fresh fruit.
The menu on Tuesday, Jan. 12, is baked beef rigatoni or Santa Fe chicken and lentils, green peas, pickled beets, whole wheat roll and orange whip.
