Gnome Paint Night

Downtown Restaurant and Lounge will be hosting a gnome painting event 2 to 4 p.m Saturday, Feb. 4. Expert instructors will guide step-by-step with lots of fun and laughter. Never painted before? Not to worry this event is all about having fun and enjoying the process! Aprons, Brushes and Paints are included as well as a pre-sketched 11×14 Canvas. Tickets are $45. 21+ age requirement. Sportsman’s Holiday

Jr. Court Applications

ATTENTION ALL FIRST GRADE students!! Applications are available for those students that would like to participate in the 2024 Sportsman’s Holiday festivities as a Junior Princess or Junior Escort. Applications are due by March 1st. We will randomly draw one boy and one girl from each of the first-grade classes in the Sweet Home School District to be a member on the Sportsman’s Holiday Junior Court (including charter schools and homeschoolers that are homeschooling in Sweet Home area). Cultural Coalition

accepting applications

The Linn County Cultural Coalition is accepting proposals for grants to fund projects involving the arts, humanities and heritage activities in Linn County. The deadline for completed grant applications is Feb. 2.

The LCCC has $22,000 available for grants in 2024. Grants typically range between $250 and $2,000. The grants are available to nonprofit organizations with tax-exempt status. An organization or individual sponsored by a qualifying nonprofit may also apply.

Local Woods Fair

Lee Peterman will be hosting a local woods fair and the Linn County Small Woodlands Association seedling sale from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 3. This event, formerly known as “Goods from the Woods” has been ongoing for over 20 years and showcases local artisans and producers of wood, wooden and forest products. Starting in 2020, a strong educational component was added to the event in the form of information booths staffed by representatives from groups such as Oregon State University Extension, Oregon Department of Forestry, the Natural Resources Conservation Service, the South Santiam Watershed Council, the “Bluebird Ladies” of Linn County and the Oregon Forest Resource Institute. Valentine’s

The Sweet Home Elkettes will be hosting a crab dinner from 5:30-7 p.m. and live music by the Dungies from 7-9 p.m., Saturday, Feb. 10. Reservations are required by Monday, Feb. 5. The $30 dinner includes one whole fresh cracked crab, pasta salad, green salad, Texas-Toast and dessert. Flea market

The Linn County Fair & Expo Center hosts the county’s largest indoor flea market on Saturday, March 16, at 105 Opal Ct. SE, Albany. Over 85+ spaces full with vendors selling antiques, collectibles, vintage and one-of-a-kind items. Early admission (cash only) from 8-9 a.m. is $6, regular admission from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. is $2, children 12 and under are free; parking is free.
