Senator
to hold town hall Saturday
Oregon
Sen. Jeff Merkley will hold a town hall at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, Jan.
9, at Brownsville City Hall City Council Chambers, 255 N. Main St.,
Brownsville.
He
will update constituents on his work in Washington, D.C. and answer
their questions and invite their suggestions about how to tackle the
challenges facing Oregon and America. He will also hold town halls in
Benton and Lane County on Jan. 9.

After 5 Connection for women will hold its monthly dinner and program
from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 12, at King’s Coffee House, 661
S. Main St. in Lebanon.
Nancy
Beaudry of Corvallis will discuss personal finances and guest speaker
Linda Reinhardt of Vancouver, Wash. will speak on “Choices and
Where They Lead.”
All
women are invited.

Lebanon
Chorus
seeks
singers
The
Lebanon Community Chorus is inviting singers to perform in its
upcoming spring pops concert.
The
chorus is looking for singers of all ages to join in singing songs by
Gershwin and Fleetwood Mac, from the movie “Frozen” and from
Broadway shows, including “Phantom of the Opera,” “South
Pacific” and “Les Miserables.”
Kevin
Nordquist will direct the program. He was co-director of the pops
concert last April.
Rehearsals
start at 7 p.m. on Jan. 14 at Our Saviour’s Lutheran Church,t 3111
South Main St., Lebanon.
The
concert will be held at 3 p.m. on April 24 at the First Assembly of
God church in Lebanon.
All
singers are welcome with no auditions required. Singers pay $15 dues
to participate, with limited scholarships available.

on Wheels weekly
menu
Meals
on Wheels, also known as Your Table or Ours, offers lunch at the
Sweet Home Community Center to seniors over 60 at noon on Mondays,
Tuesdays and Fridays.The Senior Center serves a separate lunch on
Wednesdays.
First-time
diners are invited to come in and have a free lunch to give it a try.
Suggested
donation is $3.50. All meals are served with milk, coffee or tea
upon request and diabetic desserts are available on request.
The
lunch menu on Friday, Jan. 8, is turkey club or garden chicken mini
salad over salad greens, split pea soup, French roll and spiced
pears.
The
menu for Monday, Jan. 4, is chicken tetrazzini or beef cabbage
bake, glazed carrots, marinated broccoli salad, dill roll and
pineapple.
The
menu for Tuesday, Jan. 5, is beef Swiss-style patty or roast pork and
gravy, garlic whipped potatoes, green peas, bran wheat bread and
cherry whip.
