Drive-in movie
at City Hall
Sweet Home will hold its first Movies in the Park-ing Lot (drive-in style) at 8:30 p.m. Friday, July 17.
The feature will be “Toy Story 4.”
All movies will be shown in the back parking lot of Sweet Home City Hall located 3225 Main St.
Due to COVID-19 restrictions, the event is limited to 250 people. Attendees will need to maintain physical distance of 6 feet between non-household members.
Bring some goodies and enjoy a free film.
Rally to support
American freedom
A Freedom Rally is planned for Friday evening, July 17, in front of Safeway at 1540 Main St.
Those who appreciate free speech, the right to keep and bear arms, who are pro-family and pro-community, who support police, who want peace, and who want the right to engage in private business without permission from the government are encouraged to participate from 5 to 7 p.m.
The Oaks to host Cruise-in July 18
The Oaks will hold its annual Motorcycle and Classic Car Cruise-In from 4 to 8 p.m. Saturday, July 18, at The Oaks of Lebanon, 621 W. Oak St.
The free event includes a barbecue, beer and wine, and live music, along with live and silent auctions, and plenty of classic cars and motorcycles on display.

Free online class in
internet safety
ABC House will offer free virtual training for parents in “Keeping Children Safe Online” from 5:30 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, July 22.
The online Zoom class is intended to educate and empower adults to keep children safe in the digital age.
It highlights digital trends and teaches adults and parents how to proactively participate in children’s internet experience, how to communicate effectively with children of all ages regarding online safety, and how to utilize parental controls and additional protection measures to keep kids safe online. We will incorporate discussion so that participants can share their experience, tips, and tools.

Class of 1960 calls
off reunion plans
The Sweet Home Union High School Class of 1960 reunion has been canceled, due to the coronavirus pandemic.
The 60th year reunion was to have been held July 25 at Waterloo Park.
Meals on Wheels
weekly menu
Meals on Wheels offers take-out lunch at the Sweet Home Community Center to seniors over 60 at noon on Mondays, Tuesdays and Fridays.
The Senior Center serves a separate lunch on Wednesdays.
Suggested donation is $3.50. All meals are served with milk upon request and diabetic desserts are available on request.
The menu on Friday, July 17, is beef sloppy joe or herbed chicken patty with Dijonnaise sauce, both on a bun, baked beans, potato salad and snickerdoodle bar.
The menu on Monday, July 20, is lasagna cheese rollup or western pork stew, capri blend vegetables, marinated zucchini salad, whole wheat roll and mandarin oranges.
The menu on Tuesday, July 21, is beef Spanish rice bake or chicken penne pasta, herbed carrots, garden vegetable salad, herb roll and carrot cake.
