summer at Classic Detail and Dips, 4310 Highway 20.
The
free event is for “everyone who appreciates a ‘nice’ ride.”

get-together
July 14
Lebanon’s
After Five Connection invites local women to its monthly gathering
from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, July 14, at Kings Coffee House, 661 S.
Main St. in Lebanon.
Cost
is $7, including dinner, and only cash will be accepted. This month’s
topic is “Just For Fun Handicrafts,” led by Audrey Regan, who
will display and offer a quick lesson in needle felting. Guest
speaker will be Crystal Trott of Chico, Calif, a real estate broker
who will share how she found a bottom line of peace and security.

Water
polo tourney
next
week at Foster
The
Fourth Annual Nike Open Water water polo tournament will take place
Monday through Wednesday, July 13-15, at Lewis Creek Park.
The
tournament is a sell-out, entry-wise, with 31 top club teams coming
from southern California to Canada.
Admission
is free, other than entry to the park, so the public is welcome to
watch. Bleachers will be available on the shore.
Games,
played on two courts directly in front of the park, run from
approximately 9 a.m. to 7 p.m.

The
Sweet Home Parks Department will present Music on the Green on
Thursday evenings through the month of July in Sankey Park, 877 14th
Ave.
Featured
bands will be Riffle on July 2, Cascade Rye on July 9, Betty &
The Boy on July 16, and Jake Blair on July 23. Shows start at 6:30
p.m. Admission is free.

Hosts
needed for
Japanese
visitors
Host
families are needed in Sweet Home to host students during a two-week
exchange program with Josai High School in Tokyo, Japan.
The
students will arrive Friday, July 10, and depart Thursday, July 23.
Hosts are responsible for providing room and board for students, who
will spend most of their time during the day in classes and
activities hosted by Sweet Home High School. Hosts will be required
to undergo a simple background investigation similar to the one used
for volunteers in the school district.

Tuesday
evenings
Lebanon’s
Partners for Progress will offer its annual Concerts in the Park
series on Tuesday nights, beginning July 7.
Performances
will be from 6 to 8 p.m. at Ralston Park. Featured artists will be
the Willamette Valley Concert Band on July 7, Barbara Cecil on July
14, Misplaced Tropics on July 21, Cloey on July 28 and Fate 55 on
Aug. 4.

your artistic talents in the Corks and Canvas class while enjoying
the atmosphere at Marks Ridge Winery. No experience necessary.
Supplies are provided as well as your first glass of “inspiration.”
Class will meet at the winery Thursday, July 16 from 6 p.m. to 8:20
p.m. Cost is $39.

and Selling Online will get you ready to sell those unwanted items
collecting dust. Learn how to effectively use Craigslist, eBay and
Etsy. Basic computer and online search skills required. This
three-week class meets Thursdays from 9:30 a.m. to 11:20 a.m.
starting July 21. Cost is $59.

Country
concert to
help
cancer patient
A
country music concert to raise money for cancer treatment for Sweet
Home native Raquel Gonzalez-Ndzeidze will be held from 5 to 7 p.m.
Friday, July 24, at South Pacific Auto Sales, 5040 Pacific Blvd. SW
in Albany.
Featured
artists will be Sasha Belden, Lexi Tucker and local rising star
Trevor Tagle. Admission will be $10 for those 13 and over and $5 for
12 and under.
Ndzeidze,
who lives in Corvallis and works at Oregon State University, is
seeking to raise $65,000 for eight weeks of treatment in Mexico.

on Wheels, also known as Your Table or Ours, offers lunch at the
Sweet Home Community Center to seniors over 60 at noon on Mondays,
Tuesdays and Fridays.
Suggested
donation is $3.50. All meals are served with milk, coffee or tea
upon request and diabetic desserts are available on request.
The
lunch menu on Friday, July 10, is rotisserie-style chicken or
meatloaf with gravy, Lyonnaise potatoes, green peas, wheat bread and
fresh watermelon.
The
menu for Monday, July 13, is creamed chicken and vegetables or
teriyaki meatballs over rice, broccoli cuts, marinated zucchini salad
and chocolate chip bar.
The
menu for Tuesday, July 14, is roast turkey or homestyle pork patty,
whipped sweet potatoes, mixed vegetables, onion bread and pineapple.
