weekly Summer Cruise-In is being held Tuesday evenings during the

summer at Classic Detail and Dips, 4310 Highway 20.

The

free event is for “everyone who appreciates a ‘nice’ ride.”

It will run through September from 5 to 9 p.m. each Tuesday.

Vision

support

group

meeting

The

Mid Valley Low Vision Support Group will meet at 1 p.m. Wednesday,

June 17, at Brookdale Grand Prairie Senior Living Village, 1929

Grand Prairie Road in Albany.

Jeana

Van Dyke, a certified diabetes educator and a registered and licensed

dietitian, will speak on how diabetes can affect eyesight and the

value of healthy eating for eyes.

This

will be the first meeting at the group’s new location in the

Willamette Meeting Room. The program is free, all are

welcome to attend, and light refreshments are served. Free

transportation may be available.

B&G

Club golf tourney June 26

The

Boys & Girls Club of the Greater Santiam will hold its annual

Linn-Co Credit Union Open – Charity Golf Tournament June 26 at

Mallard Creek Golf Course.

The

event has openings for 128 golfers, limited to 32 foursomes, to make

the tournament fast and fun.

Foursome

registration includes cart and green fees for four players, a light

breakfast and BBQ lunch. The tournament is expected to raise more

than $30,000 to benefit after-school programs in both Sweet Home and

Lebanon.

Meals

on Wheels weekly menu

Meals

on Wheels, also known as Your Table or Ours, offers lunch at the

Sweet Home Community Center to seniors over 60 at noon on Mondays,

Tuesdays and Fridays.

The

Senior Center serves a separate lunch on Wednesdays.

First-time

diners are invited to come in and have a free lunch to give it a try.

Suggested

donation is $3.50. All meals are served with milk, coffee or tea

upon request and diabetic desserts are available on request.

The

lunch menu on Friday, June 19, is roast turkey with gravy or BBQ

smokehouse chop, Colcannon potatoes, succotash, squash bread and ice

cream.

The

menu for Monday, June 22, is chicken lo mein or cheese and green

chile bake, whole kernel corn, marinated zucchini salad, multigrain

roll and hermit bar.

The

menu for Tuesday, June 23, is lima beans and ham or spaghetti with

meat sauce, country trio vegetables, spinach Romaine salad, cornmeal

roll and spiced pears.
