Gallery reopens,
with reduced hours
Gallery Calapooia, a local cooperative arts venue, has re-opened, as of June 16. Reduced hours are 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday.
Virtual First Friday receptions are now held live on Facebook. See the gallery’s Facebook page for the next reception, July 3.
Gallery Calapooia, located in the historic Flinn Block in downtown Albany, and recently celebrated its 6th year of bringing fine art to the community. The gallery is the cooperative effort of 21 artists. Gallery Calapooia is a nonprofit organization and donations to it are tax-deductible.

PEO taking orders
for frozen berries
Sweet Home’s PEO Chapter DD is holding its annual berry sale, to raise funds for college funds for local women, through July 9.
The blackberries, strawberries and blueberries are freshly picked prior to flash freezing, and delivered in 9-pound plastic pails?

Those purchasing berries will be able to pick them up in Sweet Home on on Aug. 8 from 9 to 9:30 a.m. The pickup area will be on Long Street behind the Rio Theater.
All proceeds from the berry sale provide educational scholarships, loans and grants to women in our community.
Mobile clinic at
Methodist church
SamCare Mobile Medicine, a health clinic inside a 40-foot vehicle will be parked behind the Methodist Church at 845 6th Ave., from 2 to 6 p.m. this Tuesday, June 30.
The goal is to provide basic health care for those who are most at risk or vulnerable and are struggling to access services. Clinicians on the bus can see patients of all ages for basic health care needs.
Schedule an appointment by calling (541) 768-2220, and then press option 3 to speak with a scheduler. Walk-ins are also welcome.
Clinicians on the bus cannot provide testing for the coronavirus.
Patients who have any known coronavirus symptoms such as fever, chills or shaking; cough or sore throat; shortness of breath; muscle aches or pains; loss of smell or taste; headache or any cold or flu-like symptoms are asked to call their primary care provider for a telehealth visit or do a MyChart “Coronavirus Concerns” E-Visit from your computer or smart device to be assessed and routed to appropriate testing and care.

The medical bus will visit the church on the following dates:
– Tuesday, June 30, from 2 to 6 p.m.
– Tuesday, July 28, from 2 to 6 p.m.
Starting Aug. 11, the mobile clinic will resume an every-other-Tuesday schedule.
Insurance (OHP and others) will be billed for your health care visit on the bus. In some circumstances, health care can be provided at no cost.

Meals on Wheels weekly menu
Meals on Wheels offers take-out lunch at the Sweet Home Community Center to seniors over 60 at noon on Mondays, Tuesdays and Fridays.
The Senior Center serves a separate lunch on Wednesdays.
Suggested donation is $3.50. All meals are served with milk, coffee or tea upon request and diabetic desserts are available on request.
The menu on Friday, June 26, is breaded beef steak with country gravy or breaded baked fish with tartar sauce, Delmonico potatoes, mixed vegetables, rye wheat bread and rhubarb applesauce.
The menu on Monday, June 29, is beef mushroom steak or roast pork, both with gravy, garlic whipped potatoes, glazed carrots, dill bread and chocolate cake with frosting.
The menu on Tuesday, June 30, is tuna or chicken salad sandwich half on wheat bread, chicken pasta soup, creamy coleslaw and mandarin oranges.
