PEO’s annual plant sale under way
PEO Chapter FA is selling plants through April 13.
Proceeds go to scholarships for local women, both current graduates and those returning to school.
Flowers, herbs, vegetables and some potted plants are available.
Orders and payment are due by April 13. Plants will be available for pickup or delivery on May 7.

Linn Democrats to
meet Thursday
Linn County Democrats will meet at 6 p.m. Thursday, March 5, at Albany Public Library Meeting Room, 2450 14th Ave. S.E., Albany.
Social time starts at 6 p.m., with light refreshments, followed by the meeting at 6:30.

Emergency alert
test Saturday
The Linn County Sheriff’s Office will conduct a semi-annual test of the Linn-Benton Alert system between 2 and 5 p.m. Saturday, March 7.
Linn-Benton Alert is a system that can push out emergency notifications to Linn and Benton County residents of emergencies, evacuations or other emergency events. Residents can sign up for the notifications by clicking on “Linn-Benton Alert” at the bottom right-hand corner of the Linn County Sheriff’s Office website at linnsheriff.org.
Residents can choose how and where they receive alerts including cell, home, and/or work phone, by text message or TTY (hearing impaired devices) and more.
‘Money Matters’
at women’s dinner
Area women are invited to After 5 Connection’s monthly dinner and a special program, themed “Your Money Matters,” from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, March 10, at The Lobby, 661 S. Main St., Lebanon.
Brock Byers, owner of The Lobby, will offer tips to take the stress out of planning for retirement, and will present financial tips to give you more confidence in the decisions you make.
Guest speaker Candy Weatherly, of Elkton, will present a humorous glimpse into the life of a woman with a well-protected “Comfort Zone” who was driven by a need to be perfect. She is a century farm owner and an active volunteer in her community.
Cost is $10, which includes everything. Credit cards cannot be accepted.

Tony Farque to tell Wagon Road story
Sweet Home Ranger District Archaeologist Tony Farque will tell the story of the Santiam Wagon Road for Lebanon Museum organizers at noon Tuesday, March 10, at the Lebanon Library, 55 Academy St.
Farque’s presentation will be the first in the Lebanon Museum’s 2020 series of historical programs. Others will be announced through the year.
The program is open to all and free of charge. Audience members are welcome to bring a lunch to eat as they listen.
Meals on Wheels

Meals on Wheels offers lunch at the Sweet Home Community Center to seniors over 60 at noon on Mondays, Tuesdays and Fridays.
First-time diners are invited to come in and have a free lunch to give it a try.
Suggested donation is $3.50. All meals are served with milk, coffee or tea upon request and diabetic desserts are available on request.
The menu on Friday, March 6, is kielbasa sausage with kraut or breaded fish with tartar sauce, both on a bun, broccoli, baked beans and golden fruit cup.
The menu on Monday, March 9, is cowboy campfire stew or chicken tetrazzini, Italian blend vegetables, creamy coleslaw, sunflower seed roll and orange whip.
The menu on Tuesday, March 10, is Mexican pasta bake or shepherd’s pie, capri blend vegetables, romaine iceberg salad, rye bran roll and zucchini brownie.
