Meals on Wheels weekly menu
Meals on Wheels offers an on-site lunch at noon Mondays, Tuesdays and Fridays to seniors over 60 at the Sweet Home Community Center.
There is a suggested donation of $3.50 per meal.
Meals are ordered in advance, and are the same meals as delivered to Meals on Wheels participants.
A menu will always be posted in the senior center’s dining room.
The menu on Friday, May 26, is a Memorial Day special featuring a barbecued chicken patty or a kielbasa sausage with sauerkraut, baked beans, potato salad, a bun and a zucchini brownie.
The Sweet Home Community Center is closed Monday, May 29, for the Memorial Day holiday.
The menu on Tuesday, May 30, is a beef Spanish rice bake or vegetable Romanoff, carrot broccoli cauliflower craisin salad, a seven-grain roll and an Oreo fluff.

COMP-NW grad ceremony set
COMP-Northwest medical school will hold its graduation ceremonies starting at 9 a.m. Friday, May 26, at 605 Mullins Drive.
Guest seating begins at 9 a.m. Doors close at 10 a.m. when the ceremony begins.
Guests are asked to be seated 10 minutes before the ceremony to clear the aisles for the academic procession (graduates and faculty).
Seating will resume after the processional, national anthem and invocation.
Late-arriving guests will be seated immediately following the latter.
Faith health group to meet May 31
Faith Community Health Network will meet from 3:30 to 6 p.m. Wednesday, May 31, at the Health Occupations Center, 300 Mullins Drive, Lebanon.
Dr. Kevin Cuccaro will speak on “The Science of Pain for Faith Community Nurses.” Pain science can be approachable, understandable, and useful and can literally transform a practice.
There is no charge to participate.

Designs sought for fair T-shirt
Local youth involved in Linn County 4-H and FFA organizations are invited to submit designs for the front of the 2023 Linn County Fair T-shirt.
The contest is open to all Linn County 4-H and FFA youth attending the fair.
Each contestant is limited to one design, which can be submitted by May 31.
The design must be an original work – absolutely no tracing or copying designs – and must use only one color.
Entries must be submitted as a PDF or JPG file format.
If selected, the contest winner will see their design printed on the T-shirts passed out at the fair and will receive a $50 Coastal Farms gift card.
The winner will also meet with a professional designer from NoDinx to help prepare the final image.
They will be highlighted in the Extension’s Growing newspaper and on social media.

Volunteers sought at event
A volunteer recruitment event will be held from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, June 17, at Academy Square Park, 55 Academy St.
A variety of organizations will be on hand, including animal rescues (large and small), the Fourth of July celebration, Guitars Under the Stars, Lebanon Fire Department, Hospital Auxiliary, Meals on Wheels, Build Lebanon Trails, Skate Park, Habitat for Humanity, Faith Community Network, Friends of the Library, Pioneer Cemetery Clean Up and more.

Garden club to hold flower show
The Lebanon Garden Club encourages community members of all ages to enter its annual free Flower Show, which will be held the first weekend of June during the Strawberry Festival, from 1 to 4:30 p.m. Friday, June 2, and noon to 4:30 p.m. Saturday, June 3, at Santiam Place, 139 S Main St.
Entries for this year’s show will be accepted June 1-2.
Flower show schedule books describing acceptable entries (including individual specimens, terrariums, and dish gardens) and designs are available at the Chamber of Commerce, Lebanon Senior Center, Lebanon Public Library, Green Thumb Nursery, Summit Ace Home & Garden and Garland’s Nursery as soon as the schedule is available.

Community yard sales scheduled
The Sweet Home Chamber of Commerce is holding a series of Saturday Sweet Home community yard sales this spring and summer, scheduled June 17, July 8 and Aug. 5.
The chamber will provide maps of all participating properties, where shoppers may find deals on household items, furniture and more.
Maps will be available a day before the sales at the chamber building, 1575 Main St.; Sweet Home City Hall, 3225 Main St.; or at the garage sale board at 18th Avenue and Long Street.
