Meals on Wheels weekly menu
Meals on Wheels offers take-out lunch at the Sweet Home Community Center to seniors over 60 at noon on Mondays, Tuesdays and Fridays.
The Senior Center serves a separate lunch on Wednesdays.
Suggested donation is $3.50. All meals are served with milk, coffee or tea upon request and diabetic desserts are available on request.
The menu on Friday, Nov. 4, is meat loaf or herbed chicken with patty, both with gravy; lyonnaise potatoes, a capri vegetable blend, seven-grain bread and a butterscotch bar.
The menu on Monday, Nov. 7, is country meatballs with gravy or shoyu chicken, brown rice, spinach, carrot raisin salad and a fresh orange.
The menu on Tuesday, Nov. 8, is hearty chicken stew or vegetable Romanoff, sliced carrots, tossed salad, an oat-bran wheat roll and chocolate pudding.

Lebanon’s Bazaar Weekend Nov. 4-5
Friday and Saturday, Nov. 4-5, is Lebanon’s annual bazaar weekend.
— The River Center will host its 10th annual Holiday Craft and Gift Fair from 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Friday, Nov. 4, and from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 5, at 3000 S. Santiam Hwy. (next to Wilco, behind Pizza Hut).
Admission is free. Food will be available for breakfast and lunch, and door prizes will be given out.
Other events are planned for Restoration Boutique, St. Edward’s Catholic Church, United Methodist Church, Santiam Place, the Knitty Gritty, and Linn County Arts Guild Gift and Gallery store.
Fliers detailing those events will be available for customers at the River Center information booth.
— FISH of Lebanon will hold a Harvest Bazaar from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Friday and Saturday, Nov 4-5, at New Hope Church, 37180 Gore Drive.

Ulep fundraiser scheduled Nov. 12
A fundraiser for Braulio “Sonny” Ulep will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 12, at the River Center, 3000 S. Santiam Hwy., Lebanon.
The Lebanon resident was diagnosed three years ago with chronic kidney disease and has been scheduled for a kidney transplant in January at the Oregon Health & Science University in Portland. The goal is to raise $10,000 to cover hotel costs for Ulep and his cousin for a month, transportation costs and airfare from Hawaii for the cousin and his mother.
Tickets cost $25 and include a Hawaiian-style dinner, live music with Polynesian entertainment and access to a silent auction.

Fire, police offer holiday programs
The Sweet Home Fire and Ambulance District is accepting applications to its Christmas for Kids Sharing Tree toy program.
Sweet Home Police Department will begin accepting applications to its Teen Sharing Tree and Shop with a Cop program on Tuesday, Nov. 1.
The programs are open to underprivileged children in the Sweet Home community.
Applications to the fire district, for children 12 and younger, are available at the “Sweet Home Sharing Tree” page on Facebook. Applications to the Police Department program for children in seventh through 12th grade and Shop with a Cop, for children ages 4-12, will be available on the city’s website, sweethomeor.gov.
Paper applications for the Teen Sharing Tree and Shop with a Cop will be available at the Police Department, 1950 Main St.
The deadline to submit applications to the sharing trees is Dec. 2. The deadline to submit applications for the Shop with a Cop program is Nov. 25.
In the sharing tree programs, names of children and families are written on tags and placed on the sharing trees. Anyone who wants to help is invited to visit the fire hall or police department and choose a name or multiple names from the tree. Donors are welcome to contribute for entire families.
Tags will be available at the Fire Hall, 1099 Long St., and Sweet Home Police Department, 1950 Main St., beginning the second week of November.
Donors purchase an item or items listed on the tag, wrap the gifts and then return them by Dec. 7. Tags that are left on the sharing trees will be taken by local department personnel, who will purchase gifts to fill those requests.
Those requesting gifts from the fire district will be able to pick them up Dec. 15-16 at the former City Hall. The Police Department will distribute on Dec. 14.
Cash donations to the “Christmas for Kids Sharing Tree” toy programs may be made between 8 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. Mondays through Fridays. at the Fire & Ambulance District office, 1099 Long St., Donations to children’s programs at Sweet Home Police Department, 1950 Main St., may be given 24 hours a day. All cash donations will be used to purchase toys and needed clothing for local children. Funds donated to the Police Department also may be used to help pay for Shop with a Cop and other children’s programs.
Applications are also available for the Dec. 3 Police Department’s Shop with a Cop program on the city’s website at https://bit.ly/3suGQG0. Paper forms are available at the department. The program is open to children 4 through 12.
During Shop with a Cop, children will receive credit to shop at Bi-Mart with police officers. Treats and hot chocolate will be available. They’ll get to meet Blue Santa, and members of the Sportsman’s Holiday Court will assist them in wrapping gifts.

After 5 schedules salute to veterans
After 5 Connection will hold a “Salute Our Veterans” dinner and program” from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 15, at Ma’s Restaurant, 2416 S. Santiam Hwy., Lebanon.
David Solomon, commander of Post 10 of the American Legion in Albany, will speak about Veterans Day and demonstrate the significance of folding the flag at a service for a fallen warrior.
Soloist Dessa Figueroa of Lebanon will perform and guest speaker John Lemkuhl of Payette, Idaho, will recount his Army career and his time in the White House.
Cost is $15. Credit cards cannot be accepted and RSVPs are required.

Bazaar vendor booths available
A number of vendor booths remain available for the annual Town & Country Christmas Bazaar to be held Dec. 2-4 at the Linn County Fair & Expo Center, 3700 Knox Butte Road East, Albany.
This year’s bazaar will run from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Friday, Dec. 2 and Saturday, Dec. 3, and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 4. Admission is $2 for adults and children admitted free.
