Arvid Enoch Anderson, 90, of Sweet Home died June 20, 2012.
He was born May 26, 1922 in North Dakota to Anders and Elizabeth (Kvelland) Anderson.
He has lived in Chicago, Illinois, Poplar Grove, Illinois and Sweet Home.
He served in the United States Navy as a gunner’s mate second class. Mr. Anderson had an auto repair business and worked as a mechanic. He also volunteered at Sweet Home Senior Center for Meals on Wheels.
He is survived by his children, son Dennis and daughter-in-law Dawn Anderson, daughter Sue Slezak, daughter Cheryl and son-in-law Douglas Lewis, all of Chicago, Ill., son Albert Hagi of Daytona, Fla., formerly of Sweet Home, son Donald and daughter-in-law Lisa Anderson of Cary, Ill., and son Steve Anderson of Sweet Home; 10 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
Mr. Anderson was preceded in death by his wife, June Anderson in 1998; daughter Denise Hagi in 2010; and son-in-law Albert Slezak.
Donations may be made in his name to the Diabetes Foundation or to the American Lung Association.
Final burial will be in Chicago, Ill.
