He is the second Community Chapel Awana member to earn a Meritorious Award. The other recipient was TJ Baham, who this year was the first ever to earn a Citation Award – meaning he memorized more than 2,000 verses, “all while going to college full-time, working, doing four sports and volunteering faithfully at Awana every week,” said Severns, who is visible behind Virtue in the photo. Awana is a global, nonprofit ministry with programs for ages 2 to 18 that actively involve parents and church leaders in learning the principles of Christian faith and in memorization of BIble passages.
