The South Santiam Four-Wheel Drive Association held its mud festival Saturday, called simply the Mud Fest this year, for the first time since 2007.
Some 1,600 participants and volunteers turned a pasture into sloppy, gooey mud off Highway 228 about a mile west of Holley Saturday morning.
