Bad attitudes key to divisiveness


I regard to Diane Daiute’s comment about the “corrupt majority of Republicans” (Feb. 17), I wonder how she thinks this attitude will ever bring the people back together instead of being so totally divided.

The difference of opinion is what makes horse races, but the difference in parties should not make us act like fools against neighbors, relatives and, yes, friends.

I would tell Diane that what happens is not as important as how we react to it. Also, nothing is opened more by mistake that the mouth.

I would also suggest that a shallow thinker never makes a deep impression.

I would add that empty heads, like empty wagons, make lots of noise.
