Barbara Woody

Barbara Alice Woody, 90, of Albany, formerly of Sweet Home, passed away Jan. 14, 2026.
She was born Sept. 7, 1935, in Claskanie to Hans Harold and Ellen Elizabeth (Edmons) Viuhkola.
Barbara went to school in Portland. After she married Johnny Woody, they moved to Sweet Home in 1960. In 1962, they built a home in Crawfordsville, where they resided until Johnny passed in 1995. Barbara then chose to travel between her different homes in Oregon.
Barbara was an excellent pianist and loved to play the piano at church. She was a member of Elm Street Baptist Church at one point. She also loved visiting with family and friends.
Barbara is survived by her children: Jeff Woody of Douglasville, Ga., and Roy Woody and Max Woody, both of Sweet Home; and seven grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband Johnny in 1995’ her parents; and a sister, Lois.
A graveside service was held Jan. 19 at Gilliland Cemetery.
