Barbara Drummond

Barbara Pauline “Polly” Drummond, 85, of Bend, formerly of Lebanon, died in Bend June 19, 2008 after a 22-year struggle with her health.

She was born on June 30, 1922 in Crabtree to Roy H. and Effie E. (Ray) Kinzer. She grew up in the Crabtree and Scio areas. She married Roy E. Drummond on March 18, 1939 in Stevenson, Wash. Polly and Roy lived on their farm on Rock Hill Drive near Lebanon for many years. He died on March 14, 1983.

Mrs. Drummond went to live in Bend with her daughter and son-in-law in 1986 after surviving an auto accident which left her critically injured.

While in Lebanon she was a member of the First United Methodist Church, the Lebanon BPOE Elkettes, the American Legion, and the Moose Lodge.

She enjoyed gardening, sewing and dancing. She was also known as the “Lady in Orange” at Drummond’s Agate Beds by her rockhound friends.

She is survived by her daughter, Launa Drummond Anderson and her husband James of Bend; brother, Raymond Kinzer of Lebanon; two grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband Roy E. Drummond; brothers Vilas and Roy Kinzer; and her parents.

A funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday, June 25, at Huston-Jost Funeral Home with burial following at the Lebanon I.O.O.F. Cemetery. On-line condolences for the family can be left at
