Barbara Fergason

Barbara Jean Fergason, 76, died on Wednesday, Oct. 25, 2006 at Samaritan Lebanon Community Hospital.

She was born Oct. 13, 1930 in Luders, Texas, the daughter of Charles and Ella (Thomas) Taylor. She lived near Luders throughout her childhood where she attended her schooling and graduated from high school.

She married Rolland R. Fergason Sr. in Luders, Texas, on May 25, 1948.

She moved to Cottage Grove in 1960. She lived in the Sweet Home, Lebanon and Scio areas since 1970. She and her husband Rolland started Sweet Home Appliance, were owners of Radio Shack Stores in Sweet Home, Lebanon and Junction City. They also owned a commercial refrigeration repair shop.

Mrs. Fergason had attended the Church of Christ in Sweet Home.

She loved spending time with her grandkids and family. She enjoyed playing cards, bingo, competitive games, traveling and making crafts. She also enjoyed activities at the Sweet Home Senior Center.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Rolland R. Fergason Sr. in 1998. Five brothers and one sister also preceded her in death.

She is survived by three sons, Rolland Fergason, Jr. of Brush Prairie, Wash., Jim Fergason of Vancouver, Wash., and Randy Fergason of Scio; two brothers, Marvin and Clinton, both of Texas; eight grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held on Oct. 28 at the Huston-Jost Funeral Home. Burial followed at the Franklin Butte Cemetery.
