Barbara Teresa Johnson, 100, of Lebanon died Oct. 26, 2011.
She was born Oct. 24, 1911 in Meadow, S.D. to John and Rosina (Volk) Schell.
She graduated from high school in 1930 and was a school teacher in South Dakota for 12 years. In March of 1933 she married Arthur Johnson in South Dakota. They moved their family to Sweet Home in 1951. She worked in canneries from 1960 until her retirement.
Mrs. Johnson loved to sew and make quilts. She enjoyed spending time with family. She was a member of the Jehovah’s Witness faith.
She is survived by her sons, Harvey and daughter-in-law Sharon Johnson of Ocean Park, Wash., Rayden and daughter-in-law Lauradell Johnson of Sweet Home, and Owen and daughter-in-law Willa Mae Johnson of Tazewell, Tenn.; daughters Una and son-in-law Mike Crowell of Salem, Marla and son-in-law Richard Pruitt of Klamath Falls and Nancy and son-in-law Don Frick of Sweet Home; brother Jim Schell of Lemon, South Dakota; sister Marie Hoff of Lemon, S.D., 15 grandchildren, 21 great- grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Johnson was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur Johnson in 1999, sons Waldo Johnson in 1967 and Roger Johnson in 2008; four sisters and two brothers.
A memorial service is planned for 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 29, at Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, 4714 Highway 20, Sweet Home.
Memorial contributions can be made in Mrs. Johnson’s name to Meals on Wheels in Sweet Home.
