Barbara Jean Mowry, 83, of Sweet Home died Dec. 27, 2014.
She was born Nov. 29, 1931 in Ventura, Calif. to Thomas Paul and Lillie A. (Brannam) Hood.
Mrs. Mowry worked for many years and retired from Linn County Mental Health Center in Sweet Home.
She was a member of the Harvest Christian Center in Sweet Home, a past Elkette, and part of a wood carving group, an oil painting group and a quilting group. Mrs. Mowry enjoyed crocheting and knitting. Anything she tried, she did well.
She is survived by her husband, Ian Mowry; seven children, Elizabeth Ann Griffin of Baker City, Randy Coleman of Ventura, Calif., Shelly Stuart of Bend, Paul Coleman of Albany, Rick Coleman of Sweet Home, Robert Coleman of Thousand Oaks, Calif., and Tammy Coleman of Hubbard; a brother, Tom Hood of Lompoc, Calif.; 30 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her sister, Pat Bradley (2012).
A memorial service is planned for 11 a.m. Friday, Jan. 2, at Sweet Home Funeral Chapel.
