For The New Era
On Friday and Saturday, a small but fun bunch of athletes from around the state took part in the first track meet on Sweet Home’s new track and field facility. Taking advantage of some unusually nice weather, some great early season marks and times were recorded.
Started by Kevein Tarpenning in 1989, this was the 13th edition of this meet. Seven girls and 14 boys took part in this year’s edition. Athletes came from as far as Crane while most were from the Willamette Valley. All athletes were competing unattached and were not associated with their individual schools.
