Beth A. Miller

Beth Ann Miller, 52, of Indiana, died at 6:10 a.m. on Nov. 17, 2005 at Goshen General Hospital following a 2 1/2-year battle with cancer.

She was born on Jan. 6, 1953 in Elkhart, Ind., to Max J. and Virginia (Emmert) Miller.

She married Charles A. Rupley.

She returned to the Goshen, Ind., area in 1992.

She was a graduate of Albany High School and attended Goshen College. She graduated in 1990 from Lane Community College, where she completed her nursing training.

She was employed as a nurse in Springfield and then at Maple City Health Care in Goshen, Ind., and Goshen General Hospital.

She was a member of the Assembly Mennonite Church of Goshen.

She was an artist, producing artwork as gifts for friends and also for local businesses. She enjoyed nature and being outdoors while backpacking, running marathons, tending her permaculture garden and cross-country skiing.

She also enjoyed woodworking, sewing, sketching and painting.

She is survived by her husband of Mishawaka, Ind.; mother of Dunlap, Ind.; son, Carlos Harris of Corvallis; daughter, Carra Harris of Horn Lake, Miss.; sisters, Jean (Dan) Rowell of Albany and Terri (Dave) Martin of Elkhart, Ind.; two grandchildren; stepdaughter, Sarah of Chicago; and step-granddaughter.

She was preceded in death by her father and her brother, Jeffrey K. Miller.

A memorial service was held at Assembly Mennonite Church on Nov. 22 with the Rev. Mary Lehman Yoder officiating.
