Betty Randolph

Dec. 24, 1927 – Feb. 10, 2015

Betty Eileen Randolph, 87, formerly of Sweet Home, passed away peacefully at home on Feb. 10, 2015.

She was born in Scotts Mills, Ore., the seventh of 10 children to Wiley & May (Yoder) Dimick.

Betty spent her early years in Sweet Home, where she graduated from high school in 1945.

That same year she married Robert “Bud” Randolph and they celebrated 48 happy years of marriage before Bud’s passing in 1993.

In 1947 they welcomed their son James Randolph and daughter Jean (Randolph) Wimer followed in 1948.

The family lived in Sweet Home until 1955 when they moved to Florence. In the mid-1970s Bud and Betty relocated to Anchorage, Alaska, where they spent the next 14 years before retiring to Independence in 1988.

Betty was a loving, kind-hearted individual who enjoyed taking care of her family. They could always rely on her to be there for them. She also enjoyed playing Bingo well into her 80s and made many dear friends during those times.

Betty had many happy years with Bud traveling in their motor home, gold panning and hosting friends and relatives in Alaska. She will be missed beyond measure by all who knew her.

She was preceded in death by her husband Bud Randolph; daughter Jean Wimer; brothers George, Chauncey, Rex “Scotty” and Harry Dimick; and sisters Dorothy Brown and Mary Ward.

Viewing was Feb. 16 at Sweet Home Funeral Chapel. A graveside service followed at Gilliland Cemetery in Sweet Home.
