Thirty-one teams turned out for the Third Annual Robbie Melcher Memorial Golf Tournament benefiting the Boys & Girls Clubs of the Greater Santiam.
Nearly $17,000 was raised in the event, held Aug. 10 at Mallard Creek Golf Course.
“The support of community members who turned out to raise funds for the Club and remember Robbie Melcher was overwhelming,” said Kris Latimer, executive director. “As was the generosity of several of our winning teams, including the Rick Franklin Corporation and Entek teams who donated their cash prizes back to benefit our kids!”
There were several new additions to this year’s event – A BE GREAT Golf Team was auctioned at the Club’s Spring Fundraiser. RAM Trucking purchased the team and members received special recognition, team shirts and extra hospitality.
Additionally on the course golfers had a chance to try their hands at a bean bag toss and to make KP, etc.
