The Rice Logging fifth- and sixth-grade boys basketball competition team defeated a tough Hendrix Heating team 52-39 in the playoff semifinals Monday night at the Boys and Girls Club of Sweet Home.
“It was an extremely hard-fought game,” said Coach John Snyder. “Levi Nieslen, Hayden Nichol and Jake Swanson were awesome.”
The Huskies were scheduled to play against the Suite 101 Salon from Philomath in the finals Tuesday evening. Winning it, they finish the season undefeated, averaging 54 points per game with an average margin of victory of 29 points.
The team defeated Central 53-28 in the quarterfinals on Thursday.
Nichol and Nielsen dominated, Snyder said.
