Bill Beebe

Bill Beebe, 78, of Sweet Home died on Sunday, June 17, 2007, at his home.

He was born April 19, 1929 in Miami, Okla., the son of Joe and Goldie (Walker) Beebe. He lived in Coos Bay throughout his childhood where he attended school and later graduated from Marshfield High School. Mr. Beebe worked in the Coos Bay area as a millwright for Menasha Lumber and for Weyerhaeuser for 40 years. After he retired in 1991 he built several homes. He spent several winters in Yuma, Ariz., and the summers in Oregon. He has lived in Sweet Home for the past two years.

Mr. Beebe enjoyed building homes and doing woodwork. He was a past member of the Elks Lodge and the Eagles Lodge. He enjoyed fishing and playing golf.

He was married to Sandra Neff for 29 years. They later divorced. He married Ruby Kerbs on Sept. 11, 1989 in South Lake Tahoe.

He is survived by his wife, Ruby of Sweet Home; sons, Bill and his wife, Janice Beebe of Eugene, James Beebe of Springfield, Danny Kerbs of Portland, and Steven and his wife Jessie Kerbs of Driggs, Idaho; daughter, Carol Kerbs of Portland; brother, Jack Beebe of Coos Bay; sister, Juanita Holiday of Dallas; four grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his brothers, Joe Beebe and Everett Beebe, and a sister, Goldie James.

A gathering of family and friends will be held at the family’s home, 4675 Mahogany Lane, Sweet Home, on Wednesday, June 20, from 1 to 3 p.m.

Huston-Jost Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.
