Billy Francis Baker, 89, of Sweet Home, died Feb. 8, 2007 at his home.
He was born in Portland to Jess and Sarah (Baker) Baker.
Mr. Baker was an engineer for Burlington Northern Rail Road for 41 years. He was a life member of the Elks BPOE 1972 in Sweet Home. In his younger years, he liked playing golf and dancing. He liked going to the games and watching baseball, his favorite sport, on TV. His favorite team was the Dodgers.
Mr. Baker is survived by his extended family, Ray and Shirley Lamb and family of Sweet Home, Sharon Rains and Jerry Kittson with all their children; cousin, Patti and Bob Armstrong of Aumsville, and two nieces, Valeria and Janet.
He was preceded in death by his sister, Gertrude Winquist; and his brother, Richard Baker, who died during World War II.
Viewing will be 8 to 10 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 14, at Sweet Home Funeral Chapel. A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Final entombment will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Portland Memorial cemetery. Sweet Home Funeral Chapel is handling the arrangements.
