Billy Hilburn

Billy “Bill’ Clyde Hilburn, 69, of Sweet Home died Jan. 7, 2012 in his home surrounded by loved ones.

He was born Jan. 19, 1942 in Miami, Ariz. to Clyde E. and Minnie Marie (Doyle) Hilburn. Mr. HIllburn was raised in Willamina.

He married Raylene Fay Prichard in Reno June 17, 1961. He worked at Pyramid Oil Company during the mid 1960s. His team won the Eldorado World Champion Oil Rigging Competition in 1965 in Taft, Calif.

The Hillburns moved to Sweet Home in 1974, where Mr. Hillburn worked at Willamette Industries until he retired.

He enjoyed hunting, fishing and camping. He loved his kids and grandchildren.

Mr. Hillburn is survived by his wife, Raylene Hilburn of Lebanon; daughter Audrey Hilburn and son-in-law Darrell Hiraoka of Sweet Home, Paul Hilburn of Lebanon, Billie Hilburn-Bjornsen of Sweet Home, and Burl Hilburn of Lebanon; two sisters, Betty Groshens of Wisconsin and Barbara Guidry of California; a brother, Gene Hilburn of Washington; 11 grandchildren, three great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his son, Jimmy Lee Hilburn in 1974; brothers James Hilburn and John Hilburn; sister Pat Dawson and son-in-law Kirk Allen Bjornsen.

Viewing will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday, Jan. 13, at Sweet Home Funeral Chapel. A memorial service is planned for 1 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 14, at Sweet Home Charter School.
