Bivalent boosters available in Linn, Benton counties

The Linn and Benton County health departments are offering the COVID-19 bivalent, an mRNA vaccine that teaches immune systems to target the coronavirus’ original and omicron strains, at booster events throughout the mid-Willamette Valley.

This updated bivalent vaccine has now been authorized for use in younger children ages 5 and over. Everyone is eligible 2 months after completing the primary series of any COVID-19 vaccine, or two months after receiving a monovalent booster. The vaccine brand or number of received boosters don’t matter.

Anyone 5 years or older who received their last boosters before September is eligible. No appointment is needed. No identification or health insurance is required. All events are wheelchair-accessible.

Bivalent boosters are available at the following mid-valley locations: 4:30 to 8 p.m. Nov. 16-17, auditorium, Benton County Event Center & Fairgrounds, 110 SW 53rd St, Corvallis; noon to 4 p.m. Nov. 16-17, Memorial Union, Oregon State University, 2501 SW Jefferson Way, Corvallis; 9 to 11 a.m. Friday, Nov. 18 and Dec. 2, St. Martin’s Episcopal Church, 257 E. Milton St., Lebanon; 4 to 7 p.m. Friday, Nov. 18, in the cafeteria at Clemens Primary School, 535 S. 19th St., Philomath; 1 to 5 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 19, at Lincoln Elementary School, 110 SE Alexander Ave., Corvallis; and 1 to 5 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 20, at the Boys & Girls Club of Corvallis, 1112 NW Circle Blvd., Corvallis.
