Head Coach Steve Brock, assisted by Glen Gill and Mike Gregory, led the Blaz’n Angels to a third-place win at the Junction City Scandanavian Festival over the weekend.
The Blaz’n Angels defeated Pro-Motion of Junction City 8-6 in its first outing Saturday morning, led by the consistent pitching of Kim Bell, who gave up only one walk, and good defensive play.
With only a five-minute rest, the Angels were stung 3-2 by the Killer Bees of Springfield in their second contest Saturday. Down 3-0 in the bottom of the fifth, Bell got an RBI single scoring Laura Gourley. She then stole her way home to bring the Angels within one. Chelsea Gregory took the loss.
The Angels started the day off Sunday with a 10-5 win over Redmond’s Wildfire. Gregory got the win for the Angels.
With Gregory pitching the final game of the weekend, the Angels lost to the Dallas Magic 10-1, giveng them a third place finish. The only run came when Bell hit a triple, and Stefani Brock brought her in on a fielder’s choice.
