Blood drive hits 56 units here

Some 56 units of blood were collected during the December 2 Bloodmobile sponsored locally by the American Red Cross and Sweet Home Kiwanis Club.

The blood will help 112 persons in need.

First time donors were Mary Cowdrey, Nicky Sandberg, Jennifer Daniels and Christine Burke.

Those reaching gallon marks included: Joyce Marvin, three; Debra Meyers, five; Richard Tabor, three; Tom Palkki, two; Andrew Hilton, one; Jay Kimball, 12; Joynce Barnharte, two.

“We appreciate the help of the high school Key Club, the senior center, Husky Cookie House, Krispy Kreme, McDonalds, The New Era, KFIR and Boy Scout Troop 372,” said event coordinator Nancy Slauson.
