Blood drive Oct. 8 at Riverside Christian

Kids are back to school and summer activities come to a close. The need for blood remains constant. Blood donors are essential in helping premature babies, cancer and surgery patients; and accident victims receive blood products in order to live.

The Red Cross encourages eligible donors to share their health with hospital patients by giving blood this fall. Because whole blood is separated and transfused as components, one blood donation can help as many as three people.

To donate blood, you must be 17 or older, be in good health and weigh 105 pounds. To make an appointment to donate blood, persons may call Ted at 990-1644.

On Oct. 8, Riverside Christian Church on Green River Dr. will host a blood drive from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m.
