Bob “Slim” Sele, 80, of Sweet Home died Dec. 2, 2015 after a short battle with cancer.
He was born Dec. 11, 1934 in Gary, Minn., to Earl and Ella Sele, one of six children.
After completing high school, Mr. Sele spent most of his working years as a mechanic for the city of Ashland and driving log trucks and dump trucks in the Sweet Home area.
He was married twice, to Beverly Johnson in 1965 and to Laura Bilderbach in 1994. Both ended in divorce.
Mr. Sele enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, John Wayne movies, westerns of any kind, mechanic work and classic Cadillacs.
He is survived by two daughters, Renae Rogers of Medford and Rhonda Johnson of Portland; six grandchildren; brothers Cordell Sele of Sweet Home and James Sele of Dallas; and sisters Nyla Kaufman of Albany and Ivy Hummel of Lebanon.
Mr. Sele was preceded in death by his parents and a sister.
His ashes will be scattered outside Sweet Home in the spring, after coffee at Fir Lawn Lutheran Church.
