Bobby R. Sharp, 83, of Sweet Home died Jan. 6, 2014.
He was born July 14, 1930 in Tulip, Texas to Garland Lawrence and Willsie Marie (Stevenson) Sharp.
Mr. Sharp served in the Navy from 1949 to 1968, including tours in Korea and Vietnam. He received the National Defense Service Medal, Republic of Vietnam Meritorious Unit Gallantry Cross, Vietnam Service Medal, Navy Good Conduct Medal and the Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal in Korea.
Mr. Sharp worked as air traffic controller in Fremont, Calif. He liked fishing, camping, traveling, basketball, football and playing the stock market. He was the life of the party and kept everyone laughing.
He is survived by his wife Linda; three daughters, Sue, Sharon and Shayla; step-daughter Sally; step-son Bobby; and brother Grady F. Sharp.
Mr. Sharp was preceded in death by his sisters, Shirley Marie and one infant sister; and a brother, Garland “GL” Sharp.
Graveside service with military honors were held Jan. 14 at Gilliland Cemetery.
